Our Environmental and Sustainability Policy

At SecondOfFive Electronics AB, we strive to offer high-quality products while taking the environment into consideration at every stage—from design and production to packaging and recycling. Here, you can learn more about how we work to minimize our environmental impact.

1. Responsible Design

  • We develop our products with a focus on long service life and resource efficiency. By choosing durable materials and smart design, we reduce the need for frequent purchases and help conserve the earth’s resources.

2. RoHS and Chemicals

  • Our products comply with the RoHS Directive (2011/65/EU and 2015/863), which restricts the use of hazardous substances in electronic equipment. This means we minimize the use of lead, cadmium, and other harmful substances.

3. WEEE – Electronic Waste Recycling

  • We are affiliated with relevant systems to meet the requirements of the WEEE Directive (2012/19/EU).
  • This means we take responsibility for ensuring our products can be properly recycled at the end of their life cycle.
  • Some of our products carry the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol, indicating that they should not be disposed of in regular household waste. Instead, they must be taken to authorized collection points or disposed of according to your local waste management guidelines.

4. Battery Management

  • Some of our products are powered by batteries. We adhere to the Battery Directive (2006/66/EC), which stipulates safe recycling practices for batteries.
  • When your battery is spent, you can:
    1. Drop it off at your nearest recycling center.
    2. Send it back to us for safe handling, if we offer a return service.

5. Sustainable Packaging

  • We strive to use recycled and recyclable materials in our packaging. By avoiding unnecessary plastics and filler materials, we reduce waste and minimize environmental impact.

6. Transport and Logistics

  • We work to lower emissions in our transportation by partnering with logistics companies that offer carbon-offset or environmentally friendly shipping options whenever possible.

7. Our Customers’ Role

  • We encourage all our customers to dispose of end-of-life products responsibly and separate electronic waste from household waste.
